Melissa Jeffryes
PRESIDENT
Melissa Jeffryes holds a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado and has worked in the behavioral health field for 30 years. She has experience working with individuals facing a variety of issues, including substance use, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and challenges related to adolescence.
As a clinician, Melissa has worked in a variety of settings, including residential treatment, acute care, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and university counseling. She also served as a residential director at Turning Point for many years.
Melissa is an approved Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) trainer for BHA and enjoys coaching and teaching adult students and counselors pursuing certification in the SUD field.
Melissa has been on the board since July, 2023.

Kevin Strait
PAST PRESIDENT
Kevin Strait brings business, finance, and legal support to Turning Point. His decades of experience in engineering and law bring a unique perspective to the Board of Directors.
Kevin spent his early career as an engineer developing industrial electronics, laboratory instruments, and chemical compounds for the automotive industry. He developed a portfolio of products and patents with over three hundred million in annual sales. He traveled the world to advise the automotive industry on manufacturing techniques and new product development. The car you drive today likely has at least one of Kevin’s patented technologies inside.
He left his engineering career to transition into the practice of law. As managing partner of Anzen Legal Group, Kevin supervises staff attorneys providing general business litigation, intellectual property services, IP licensing, M&A, human resources, and corporate finance services. His perspective as an attorney is a welcome addition to Turning Point’s Board of Directors. Kevin’s role in Turning Point promotes the organization’s financial strength, sound policies, proper staffing, and productive relationship with peer institutions.
Kevin is proud to support Turning Point’s work in the community to protect families, promote emotional wellness, and prevent tragedies in families. He has served on the board since June, 2022.

Alexis Ongley
SECRETARY
Alexis Ongley began her career in alternatives to incarceration in 2006, following her graduation from Colorado State University with a bachelor's of Social Work. During her 18 years with Larimer County Community Corrections, she has served in many different roles. She is currently the Assistant Director over residential, non-residential, and treatment case management, evaluations, victim services, employment services, and administrative staff. She has specific expertise in the areas of invention based residential and non-residential case management, case evaluation, trauma-informed practice, and gender-responsive programming. She has partnered on special legislative projects to include structured decision making, action-oriented community-engaged research, and gender responsive programming evaluation and implementation. Alexis is passionate about strengthening communities and ensuring access to equitable resources and opportunities. She trains people in Larimer County that provide services to justice involved individuals on trauma-informed responses. She also serves on the Larimer County Inclusion Advisory Council on diversity, equity, and inclusion matters impacting Larimer County employees, the Colorado Governor’s Advisory Council on Community Corrections, and the Poudre Valley School District Gifted Advisory Board.

Talia Sternberg
MEMBER
Talia graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor's in Business and has spent over 10 years with Dutch Bros, focusing on strategic planning, leadership development, and building strong team and community connections. She loves finding ways to bring big-picture goals to life, which fits perfectly with Turning Point’s mission to empower youth and families. Talia is passionate about helping the board’s vision translate into real impact for Northern Colorado and beyond. When she’s not working, you’ll find her recreating in Colorado’s stunning outdoor playground.
Talia is President of Dutch Bros Northern Colorado and has been on the board since December, 2023.

Skip Caddoo
MEMBER
Skip is retired from PSD after 29 years (as teacher and administrator). He is owner/operator of S R Irrigation (30 years). He was a behavior coach for Turning Point, before joining the board in January, 2024.

Miranda Simpson
MEMBER
A proud Colorado native from LaSalle, CO, Marinda is deeply rooted in her community and dedicated to making a positive impact. After graduating from Colorado State University , she began her career with Sate Farm, where she has been a trusted agent in Fort Collins since 2012. Marinda is passionate about supporting local education initiatives, community development, and organizations like FFA/4-H. When she’s not cheering on CSU, she enjoys spending time her husband, Jason, and their son, Cade.
