Coaching & Family Services

What is Behavior Coaching?

Behavior Coaching is a skill-based mentoring service. We work with youth, parents, and families in supporting growth and development in life skills, coping skills, behavioral support, parent coaching, educational or vocational support, and so much more.

Behavioral coaching focuses on three major areas: life skills, coping skills and interpersonal skills development.

The coaching service is intended to be flexible and adapt to youth and families' unique needs. Regardless of the specific family or individual need, coaching provides clients with strategies to improve their current level of functioning and increase positive social, mental health, or personal functioning.

Who is Behavior Coaching for?

Behavior coaching services are available to youth and families in the community, as well as families involved with the Department of Human Services. It is both a preventative and an intervention-based service.

While insurance doesn’t cover behavior coaching, we offer a low out-of-pocket fee and often have grant funding available to cover the cost. We also have bilingual behavior coaches able to work with Spanish speakers.

We welcome all ages, races, ethnicities, genders, sexualities, religions, and disabilities. We do not discriminate.

Over the years, this program has been grant-funded by various funding partners, including Larimer County Behavioral Health, The Weld Trust, and the City of Fort Collins.

In 2023, we have grant funding available for FREE BEHAVIOR COACHING for Fort Collins students from low-income families (thanks to the City of Fort Collins ARPA grant) and Weld County youth (thanks to The Weld Trust grant funding)

How Does Behavior Coaching Help?

Behavior coaching services provide support and skills designed to help youth re-engage in school, prevent the need for a higher level of intervention, and improve relationships and coping skills.

Behavior coaching helps support parents with parenting skills and life skills pertaining to parenting. Coaches work with caregivers on how best to support youth in their goals.

Turning Point has been providing behavior coaching services to Larimer and Weld County DHS youth and families since 2010.

Turning Point’s Coaching Program Achieved the Highest Ranking of all coaching providers from both CSU Core programs data and TOPS data.
